Student Ministry

Hillcrest Student Ministry exists to educate, equip, and encourage students in 7th – 12th grade with the word of God to carry out the mission of God by spreading His glory throughout all the world (2 Tim. 3:16-17; Eph. 4:11-14; Rom. 15:5). We strive to be a joyful and loving community of young believers who love the Lord and His word and seek to worship God and live in faithful obedience to Jesus Christ (John 13:34-35; 4:24; 14:15).

We accomplish these goals through weekly Bible study and worship, Sunday School small groups, summer camps, mission trips, and other fun and gospel-centered activities. Join us each Wednesday night @ 6:00 and Sunday morning @ 9:15 in the youth room!

WEDNESDAY NIGHTS

Everyone has a worldview — the way in which we see the world around us. As Christians, we need to make sure our worldview is developed from God’s word rather than from the culture around us. Join us each Wednesday night @ 6:30 in the you room as we study Genesis 1-11, working together to look at life from a biblical worldview!

Ministry Leadership

Jack Hickey is no stranger to New Albany and Hillcrest. Growing up here, Jack surrendered to the calling of ministry in 2016 and received his B.S. in Christian Ministry from Blue Mountain College in 2019. He came on staff as Interim Student Pastor in May 2019 and has been serving full-time since September 2021. He completed his M.Div. at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in December 2022 while supporting our youth in ministry and biblical education. Jack is married to Ivy Jordan Hickey, also of New Albany and Hillcrest. They have 2 children – John Malcolm & Elizabeth – who make life tons of fun!
