IN THE CLASS & ON THE FIELD

Thank you for your continued faithfulness to our Sunday School ministry. It’s the best setting for sharing your joys and sorrows, building community, and getting to know your church family a few people at a time. Our numbers are increasing at a slow, but steady pace and what’s more, the ministry seems to be in an “exercise routine”, meaning it’s getting stronger and healthier, spiritually speaking. Thank you. Let’s continue to encourage our new church members to plug in and stay plugged in and contact your church family members that haven’t been to Sunday School in a while and encourage them to return…this Sunday!

CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR OUR INTERNATIONAL PARTNERS

This past Sunday we heard a report from Andy Milam (he and his wife, Michelle, are living on the Blue Mountain campus for now but serve with the International Mission Board in Porto, Portugal) concerning church-planting work in the Northeastern region of Portugal. Vila Real Baptist Church, led by Pastor Fernando Silva is active in Kingdom work, spreading the Gospel throughout the region. But they are only one established body in an area of nearly 400,000 people. Thanks to your sacrificial giving this past November, we can help financially support Pastor Fernando monthly. He travels a lot in his ministry and gasoline there is almost $8.00/gallon. Be obedient to God’s voice as to how you might serve in Portugal on a short-term journey.

The “J&M” family (relatives of Jo & Bill Cousar) who serve in South Asia, have been living in consistent 100° heat for almost the whole month of May, with the added pollution of a landfill fire that burned for 4 days around May 1. However, they continue to minister actively and share the gospel daily. Pray for their health and endurance in ministry.

A great way to stay current on what’s happening in the HBC family is through the Hillcrest Facebook page.
